30A Events and Activities for the Whole Family
Sand, surf, and sun in the Sunshine State are sure to make for an exciting family vacation. But eventually, the kids and adults alike are going to want to explore the 30A area beyond just the beaches. Fortunately, 30A has, even more, to offer, from exciting family-friendly events to classes and even other fun nature activities to enjoy like stunning natural parks and rare coastal dune lakes. Here are a few of our favorite 30A events for the family:
Baytowne on Ice
You might think of 30A as warm and sunny all the time, but that doesn’t mean you have to miss out on ice skating. Every day from October 26th through February 1, Baytowne on Ice at The Village of Baytowne Wharf is open to families and individuals who want to enjoy their favorite winter activities, even on a vacation where the point is to beat the winter weather. Hours vary from day today. Make sure to bring a jacket, even if the weather is fine and warm outside.
Farmers Market
A farmers market is more than just a place to find fresh produce. It’s a place where you can get a taste of the local flavor. Often, businesses stay open later, you can talk to local craftspeople and farmers, and there’s even live music. The buzz of activity makes it fun for kids as it is for adults. On 30A, there are several farmer’s markets you can check out, including the Seaside Farmers Market, Grand Boulevard Farmers Market, or 30A Farmers Market Rosemary Beach.
The Hub
Located in Watersound, The Hub is called The Hub of 30a for a reason. Here you can enjoy some food and drink from nearby restaurants and check out some of the many events here. You might hear some live music or check out basketball on the Jumbotron. You can even watch the Superbowl from The Hub! Make sure you keep an eye on their Happenings calendar — there’s something new every week!
Take an Art Class
An art class is a great way to encourage your child creatively, as well as get some of their energy out so you can enjoy your vacation, as well. At Rock Paper Scissors 30A, we nurture that wild creativity that children often have with art classes for children 3-5 and art classes for children 6 and up. We also have an open studio all day, Tuesday through Saturday. Want to take a night off from the kids? You can book the studio for a ladies’ night and create some fun works of your own!
